Green-Schools Committee awarded fifth green flag!!
Congratulations to our Green-Schools Committee on being awarded the school’s fifth green flag! This award was for the pupils’ hard work on promoting biodiversity in our school environment. The project involved the boys collaborating to increase the levels of biodiversity around the school and learning about biodiversity and nature in the process. The school’s previous four flags were for reducing Litter and Waste, conserving Energy and Water and improving Travel for the school community. Promoting long-term, whole-school action for the environment Green-Schools is a student-led programme with involvement from the wider community. The programme is operated and co-ordinated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce and is known internationally as “Eco-Schools”.
Thank you to Oisin and Ben who acted as our committee representatives and collected our fifth Green-Schools flag.
