Assembly: May 2019
We held our monthly assembly for May on the 2nd. Three classes performed for us on the morning. 6th class from Mr Daly’s room recited the poem, “A Little Gael’s Tale” all about a young, keen Mon hurler who can’t wait to play hurling for the Mon Harty Team, but being only 8 years old he has to wait!!! How true to life that is with some our hurlers in the school at present!!!!!!! Boys from Ms Flannery’s 2nd class recited their poem, “Our Cork” about how Cork is our home. They first performed it for the Lord Mayor’s visit in October. A huge well done to them. Their poem came in third place from all the entries in Cork City and they have received a prize from the Lord Mayor, Mick Finn.Well done lads. The boys from Ms Kelly’s 2nd class gave a beautiful rendition of “A Mhuire Mháthair” on the tin whistle and followed it up with “Baby Shark.” This proved to be a huge success with the whole hall joining in. Also, well done to all of the lads who had full attendance for the past month and to the boys whose attendance improved too.
