On June 6th we held our Annual Awards Night in the school hall. A  huge crowd turned up to cheer on the boys from each class who received awards for Best Behaviour, Most Improved, Gradam na Gaeilge, Most Hard Working and Edmund Rice Award as well as Edmund Rice Youth Ambassador Award and Principal’s Award. The Sciath na Scol Panel were presented with their awards as well as the 6th class boys involved with the Grúpa Ceoil. The Grúpa entertained us on the night and as usual they performed to a high level. Our Past Pupil Award went to Pat Horgan, who,for years has been the leading light with the Cork hurling team. Unfortunately, Pat was unable to attend due to training commitments, but we were delighted to welcome his mam, Ann, and his dad, Pat to accept the award on Pat’s behalf. We were also honoured and humbled to accept a present of a signed Cork jersey from Pat, which we will frame and display on our wall beside memorabilia of other great past pupils of our school. Thanks Pat. It was a fantastic night and well done to all the boys for your hard work and dedication that ensured you are worthy recipients of your awards.
