September in Our School

On Thursday the 27th of August the doors of our school finally reopened to welcome back our greatly missed boys after a strange six months. This year the traditional trepidation and first day back nerves some may experience were replaced with excitement. Friends were re-united, stories were shared and much fun was had by all.

Students adapted really well to all of the new procedures which we have put in place to ensure our school is clean and as safe as possible for your child to study in. Boys have staggered yard times as well as starting / finishing at different times. Classes are subdivided into pods and students have to be commended for maintaining social distance throughout the school day. All of these procedures coupled with a comprehensive daily deep clean by our dedicated cleaning staff have made the Mon a very safe place for your child to learn.

September was a unique and hectic month. The sacraments of Confirmation and Communion were celebrated in the North Chapel. Last year’s 6th class were confirmed on the twelfth of September, while eighteen 3rd class boys made their First Holy Communion three days later. A huge thanks from all of the boys, parents and staff to Fr. John O’Driscoll for all of his hard work in preparing the boys for their respective ceremonies.

We would like to thank all parents for reinforcing best hygiene practices at home, for not visiting school during the day and encouraging your sons to follow our school’s rules. By working together, our school community can ensure that we are best prepared for the coming academic year and that your child can fully engage in his education.
