Scoil Mhuire Fatima, North Mon, has an active Parents’ Association which acts as a voice for the parent body. Members of the Parents’ Association are actively involved in working with the principal, staff and the board of management to build effective partnership between the home and the school. Members are also involved in fundraising activities towards providing vital services and activities for the student body.
The Parents’ Association is a busy group. They work in all areas of the school. They help run the Credit Union in the school every Thursday morning. They also organise events like cake sales, raffles, treasure hunts, table quizzes every year. When communion and graduation times comes around, a party is organised for each after the ceremony.
The Parents’ Association meet regularly to discuss school issues and organise school events. It is a great way to get involved, meet other parents and understand all that goes on in the school. We would be delighted to see larger attendances at these meetings, everybody is welcome. Membership is open to all parents in the school.
To learn more about the committee, or if you are interested in getting involved in the Parents’ Committee please contact the school office or the Home School Liaison, Mick Dowling on 0867250294.
